That’s something I never thought I would have to say. Rice has been everywhere since forever. It’s something you don’t really think about. You buy a big bag of rice and it lasts forever.
Well, not anymore. Apparently, a major rice crop failed. Prices are shooting up. Now, people are starting the horde the rice. Yes, I said horde. I like rice, so I guess I’m going to have to stock up myself. However, I’m lazy as all get out when it comes to cooking, so I’ll be stocking up on Minute Rice.

“The latest data show cereal prices rising by more than 8% a year. Both flour and rice are up more than 13%. Milk, cheese, bananas and even peanut butter: They’re all up by more than 10%. Eggs have rocketed up 30% in a year. Ground beef prices are up 4.8% and chicken by 5.4%.”
